Shakespeare in the Alley

This radio series on Dylan as poet, aired on KBUT and KWSB in the spring of 2002, has been expanded to twelve shows. The epilogue, show thirteen, is being written. The companion web site is available online at dylanalley.org

Dr. King's 2004 sabbatical provided time to expand the series. Dr. King did his doctoral thesis on Dylan at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1975 and aired an early version of this series in 1979 on WETS-FM. “Radio is the perfect medium for my purposes,” he says, “since I can ‘quote’ the song in part or full—with the music.” The timing seems to be perfect.
